Έχει σπουδάσει και εργαστεί σε Πανεπιστήμια και Ερευνητικά Κέντρα των ΗΠΑ και της Γαλλίας και το επιστημονικό του έργο επικεντρώνεται στην κατανόηση του μηχανισμού παραγωγής ενέργειας σε πυρήνες γαλαξιών στο κοντινό και μακρινό σύμπαν, χρησιμοποιώντας κυρίως παρατηρήσεις από διαστημικά τηλεσκόπια.
