Fail Like You Mean It | Sanaya Jain | TEDxTheArdeeSchoolNFC
Life is not a straight path to success — it is a series of lessons. Failure is not an impediment to achievement; it is the very first step toward it. In a world where competitions exist and comparisons never end, we often forget the deeper truth: becoming the best version of ourselves is less about outpacing others and more about embracing who we are. This talk challenges the audience to reframe failure, resist the pressure of constant comparison, and find confidence in authenticity. With honesty and courage, it explores how growth comes not from perfection, but from owning our stories setbacks, struggles, and all. Sanaya is a student of Year 7. - 13:38Before the beat lands | Sia Joshi | TEDxTheOrchidSchoolBeats have always been Sia's playground. As a dancer and creator, she lives in rhythm. She believed life, like creation, would always hand her the perfect moment to step in. Until the day it all went offbeat: She was asked to jump off a bridge. In that moment, everything she trusted about timing collapsed. And then she realized: that perfect beat will always come around, but creation doesn’t wait. Life doesn’t wait. You either step in, or you stay behind. So here’s the riddle: if the beat will always return, why do we wait for it? Sia lives with an open sketchbook, endlessly curious and endlessly creating. A lover of art in all its raw and refined forms, she collects stories the way some collect souvenirs: through paintings, conversations, and quiet observations. She finds her truest expression in classical dance, where discipline flows seamlessly into creativity. Insatiably curious, she wants to try and do everything at least once, believing each experience leaves behind a color worth keeping. She thrives where rules loosen just enough to let beauty breathe. For Sia, the best truths aren’t found in answers; they’re hiding in the space between certainty and chance. - 11:39Living a Vibrant Life | Rachael Lewis | TEDxOldHickoryIn this TEDxOldHickory talk, Rachael Lewis shares her journey from teacher to thriving hairstylist, revealing how rejecting complacency and embracing bold, uncomfortable change can lead to joy and fulfillment. Her message challenges us to stop settling for “fine” and instead ask the big questions that open the door to a vibrant, purpose-filled life. Rachael Lewis is a hair artist and owner of Honey+Sage Salon in Hermitage, TN. A former middle school teacher, literacy specialist, adoptive parent, retail manager, and once-aspiring attorney, she reinvented her life in 2021 by pursuing cosmetology. Originally from western Kentucky, she holds degrees from the University of Kentucky and Murray State University. Now living in Mount Juliet with her husband, mom, four kids, bonus kid, and 14 animals, Rachael thrives on Diet Coke, family time, reading, being near water, and watching her kids, pets, and plants grow. A recovering perfectionist and people pleaser, she’s now boldly chasing her own dreams—no apologies. She hopes to be remembered for her laughter, gumption, wit, and love for others. Before she kicks the bucket, she wants to travel the world, get scuba certified, become a beekeeper, and maybe hold hands with an otter.
