The Good the Bad and the AI: Will We Let the Algorithm Choose for Us | Maria Dimitrova | TEDxPlovdiv

In a world where AI can screen thousands of job applications in minutes, who’s really making the decisions — humans or algorithms? This talk explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping recruitment, revealing why the future of work depends on keeping the human touch in a digital world. Maria Dimitrova is the Regional Manager for Bulgaria at Foundever – the third-largest company in the world for outsourced services. She leads over 1,000 employees, aged from 17 to 73! With more than 20 years of experience in team management, Maria combines business strategy with a human approach. She holds a degree in software engineering, complemented by studies in economics and pedagogy. Since 2023, she is a certified mediator in labor disputes and business relations accredited by the Ministry of Justice. Maria is fluent in sign language and is committed to creating job opportunities for deaf people within her company. In 2024, Maria was awarded second place for Best Leader in Bulgaria by Employee of Choice, and in 2025, she was ranked among the 100 leaders who have positively influenced the development of Bulgarian business in the field of innovation.
