How to define open-mindedness - you might be surprised as Richard THOUGHT he knew, but was pleasantly surprised at what it all entailed. Daisy is a grade 9 student at BJ80 High School. Daisy thoroughly enjoys playing the piano and has a level 10 certificate. She has participated in activities at the National Center for the Performing Arts, Tiananmen Square and the CPPCC Auditorium. Daisy looks forward to travelling around the world, creating her own podcast and her own songs. Born in Afghanistan and raised outside of Washington D.C., Zohra Atmar is career United States Department of State Foreign Service Officer. She is currently serving as Chief of the Political- Economic Section at the U.S. Consulate General in Jeddah. She previously served in Jordan, Trinidad & Tobago, and Zimbabwe, along with MENA-focused assignments at State Department headquarters. Prior to joining her diplomatic career, Zohra worked with the Department of Defense, and in Kabul, Afghanistan with a research NGO, as well as NATO’s ISAF Mission. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and speaks Dari, Pashto, Spanish, and (very basic) Arabic. She and her husband have three daughters and have lived in Jeddah since August 2023. Her achievements have not deterred her from engaging in a diverse array of endeavors. These include winning a silver medal at the inaugural female Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition in Jeddah, volunteering in a multinational initiative for women's health treatment alongside a surgeon who trained at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, and raising awareness for arthritis through a campaign that has reached thousands of individuals in Jeddah. Lina has made history as the winner of the first Saudi Games in women's basketball. She has also been a speaker at numerous local and international conferences on the topic of women and sports, an opinion writer for several publications, and was recognized with the Entrepreneurship Award at the Women in Leadership Forum in 2010.Some notable recognitions include: member of the Saudi Special Olympic Committee, contributor to the 2012 National Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign as part of a group of ten Saudi women who have climbed the Everest Base Camp, member of the top 20 Young Leaders from the Middle East and North Africa, and member of the sports investment committee in the chamber of commerce 2014-2018.
