Classroom to Career | ANURAG CHANDRA | TEDxShiva Shiksha Sadan Youth

This Talk explores the crucial importance of academic focus during Grades 10–12 — the foundation years for future success. While strong academics open doors to top colleges, scholarships, and careers, the talk emphasizes that true success lies in balance. Schools play an irreplaceable role in shaping not just intellect but character, creativity, and emotional intelligence. The speaker cautions against dropping out of school for exam coaching, highlighting how it limits holistic growth. Technology, when used wisely, becomes an equalizer — enabling students to blend regular schooling with personalized preparation. The core message: sustainable success comes from integrating academic excellence, school participation, and holistic development, supported by modern technology. Students who embrace this balance not only excel in exams but evolve into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals ready to thrive in a changing world. I am an alum of IIT Kanpur and a seasoned EdTech leader with 21 years of experience in education technology and publishing. I currently serve as Product and Academic Head at Q&I (Thomson Digital), where I spearheaded the launch of Q&I, a personalized adaptive learning platform for JEE/NEET preparation and Foundation grades. Today, the platform is used by thousands of students and numerous schools across India to tailor their preparation for competitive exams. I have also contributed to establishing Q&I-powered Academic Centres of Excellence for the Government of Sikkim. Earlier, I worked with top educational brands and founded my entrepreneurial venture, Eduwiser Publishing Group, authoring eight books in Mathematics and Science. My fictionalized version of the Ramayana, The Ramayana Secret, was among the top three e-books in its genre in 2018. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
