Thriving Through Crisis with Conscious Leadership | Mohan Savarkar | TEDxNITKSurathkal

Mohan Savarkar focuses on one thing we all deal with that is chaos. He explains how chaos must not always destroy us, but how it can actually make us change and grow. Instead of seeing the world as constant disorder, he encourages us to find meaning and direction within it. He narrates stories of the pandemic and other global disruptions that demonstrate people's responses in hospitals, companies, and communities where life had suddenly become unpredictable (chaotic). From these experiences, he states a straightforward three-step approach to managing challenging times. They are to Survive, Revive, and Thrive. He discusses the kind of leadership that steadies people, enabling them to emerge as leaders who are quick to show empathy, remain calm, and bounce back. He takes various examples, such as Netflix reinventing itself, Tata Motors' bounce back post-pandemic, the sudden rise of Zoom, and how Steve Jobs brought Apple back to life. He gives us the message that "creativity, focus, and a genuine care for people can make disruption an opportunity". The talk is practical and encouraging; it serves as a guide to help students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, or anyone learning to handle uncertainty and emerge stronger. Mohan Savarkar is the Chief Product Officer and Vice President at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.Mohan has contributed significantly enabling made-in-India passenger cars succeed in the Indian Automobile Industry. He has spearheaded Tata Motors efforts in successful products like Nexon and Punch; popularizing cutting-edge technology like ADAS, Sunroofs; making safer cars for India; and resurrecting past legends like Sierra.
