Swinging towards the future | Nikki Ponappa | TEDxYouth@NPSKRM

This talk uses golf as a metaphor for life: the grip is about meaningful connections, the stance about confidence with humility, and the swing about committed actions with balance. Just as in golf, every choice shapes where the ball and our life lands. Our “Future Echoes” are the legacies created by today’s intentional decisions, integrity, and kindness. Born into a defence background, Nikki grew up with resilience and adaptability, having changed 13 schools across the country. After completing her post-graduation in IT & Marketing , she spent seven years in the corporate world before taking a maverick decision—leaving it all behind to pursue her true dream of becoming a sportsperson. Within just three years (2006–2008), she rose to become one of India’s Top 5 women golfers, going on to play professional golf for a decade and winning prestigious tournaments including the first Satish Tandon Memorial Cup. For the past 10 years, Nikki has dedicated herself to coaching, training children as young as 3 and adults up to 80, while also serving as a coach for visually impaired students at Enable India.Beyond golf, Nikki is a motivational speaker and entrepreneur. She runs The Food Lover Company, a cloud kitchen that also serves as a fundraiser for The Coorg Wellness Foundation, a non-profit she established in 2014 in her hometown, Kodagu. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
