The Paradox of Automation: How AI Makes Us More Human | Ahmed Mekallach | TEDxMarianopolisCollege

AI is everywhere, automating stuff we used to do ourselves. You’re probably thinking, ‘Great, so what's left for me to do?’ But what if I told you that’s exactly the point—because being human is about way more than just grinding through tasks or memorizing facts. We’re at a crossroads where digital intelligence isn’t replacing us, it’s helping us unlock a whole new level of creativity, purpose, and self-discovery. It’s like having the ultimate cheat code to life, where exploring the unknown and leveling up your skills becomes the norm. Come vibe with me to see how tapping into AI daily, like it’s your own personal mentor, could be the key to unlocking the coolest and most meaningful version of your future self. Ahmed Mekallach is an engineer and digital innovator with deep roots in the construction industry. After completing Health Sciences at Marianopolis and earning a degree in Civil Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, Ahmed spent nearly a decade transforming construction processes at Supermetal, North America’s largest steel manufacturer. Throughout his tenure, Ahmed rapidly advanced through roles such as Field Engineer, Project Manager, Director of Sales and Estimates, and Director of Special Projects, consistently focused on integrating cutting-edge technology to streamline complex processes. His passion for process engineering and digital transformation culminated on March 14 2023, when OpenAI released GPT-4, prompting him to launch Myte Group. Today, as founder and CEO of Myte Group Inc., Ahmed empowers businesses and individuals to harness the transformative potential of digital intelligence, reshaping workflows and redefining efficiency. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
