This interview with Juan y Medio, one of the most well-known and beloved broadcasters among the Andalusian and Spanish public, recounts anecdotes and curiosities from his life and career. Juan y Medio, cuyo nombre real es Juan José Bautista Martín, nació en Lúcar, Almería. Estudió Sociología y Derecho en la Universidad de Alcalá y llegó a ejercer brevemente como abogado. Su entrada en el mundo del espectáculo fue curiosa: comenzó como responsable de seguridad en las giras de artistas como Hombres G y Luz Casal, y en apenas dos semanas ya estaba al frente de la organización de toda la gira. Su carácter afable y resolutivo le abrió puertas en televisión, debutando en 1992 como «gancho» en el programa Inocente, inocente.Desde entonces, ha conducido numerosos programas, especialmente en Canal Sur, donde se ha convertido en rostro imprescindible con espacios como Punto y Medio, Menuda noche y el exitoso La tarde, aquí y ahora. En 2022 presentó en La 1 de TVE el talent show Dúos increíbles. Además de presentador, es empresario: en 2009 fundó su propia productora, Indalo y Media, que ha desarrollado diversos formatos de entretenimiento. Su labor televisiva fue reconocida en 2024 con la Medalla de Andalucía.A lo largo de los años, ha compartido numerosas anécdotas en programas y entrevistas, consolidando su imagen de comunicador cercano y polifacético, muy querido por el público andaluz y nacional. He urges local leaders, educators, and entrepreneurs to act now—by building innovation labs, launching startups, and recruiting AI firms. Greenville, he argues, is ideally positioned to lead the next generation of advanced manufacturing by focusing on building happy employees. I believe that small groups of creative and dedicated people change the world. I seek to work with and to empower others working to help make our communities freer and safer in a complex, coercive, and violent world. I have served in war and traveled the world, studied Economics human behavior, and worked at the pinnacles of power in government and in industry.I co-founded two AI companies when I saw an opportunity join behavioral science with AI innovations coming from computer science to empower those on the front lines of combatting coercion, fraud, and violence in the military, law enforcement, and in financial institutions.I love to teach, write, and engage with curious people.
