From Whispers to Roars | Enrique Sánchez Monterrubio | TEDxPrepas La Salle Bajio Youth
“Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom,” Aristotle once said—and that journey begins with finding your voice. In this talk, we’ll explore the concept of “your voice” not just as how you speak, but as the essence of your identity: your values, emotions, and the choices you make when facing challenges.
In a world that often prioritizes conformity over individuality, many have lost touch with their inner voice. I’m here to challenge that notion. Through reflection and storytelling, we’ll uncover how reclaiming your voice can lead to greater self-awareness, deeper connections, and a more meaningful life.
You’ll be invited to question the stories that have kept you silent, and leave with the tools to rediscover the power within you. Because your voice matters—not just to you, but to the world around you. Hi, my name is Enrique Sanchez Monterrubio, and I’m currently a high school student with a wide range of interests, from technology and robotics to participating in Model United Nations. However, there’s one question that stands out to me more than any other: How does life work in all its domains? I am deeply curious about everything from biology and philosophy to psychology, consciousness, theology, and ethics. I believe that understanding the interconnectedness of all these fields can lead to profound insights. As someone who has always been fascinated by the power of ideas, I am convinced that sharing knowledge has the potential to bring about meaningful change for everyone.Looking around, I see that one of the greatest crises in today’s society is the lack of self-expression. Why is this important? Having a voice is arguably the most fundamental thing a person can possess, second only to life itself. - 16:14Why does AI seem to work so well? | Marius Dorobantu | TEDxVUAmsterdamHave you ever interacted with an AI chatbot and wondered how it's so incredibly good? The strange truth is, even the experts don't fully understand why these systems work so well.In this mind-bending TEDxVUAmsterdam talk, theologian Marius Dorobantu dives into the unexpected secret behind AI's surprising intelligence: human language itself. He argues that language is far "more than" just data, it carries a profound metaphysical depth and even an "imprint of our humanity," something theology has been exploring for centuries. If language is such a potent catalyst for both human and artificial intelligence, what happens when we outsource its production to AI systems? This talk challenges us to rethink our relationship with language, how we interact with AI, and how we can use ancient wisdom to understand our choices in a technological world. Marius Dorobantu is an Assistant Professor of Theology & Artificial Intelligence at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His award-winning doctoral dissertation at the University of Strasbourg, France (2020) explored the potential implications of strong artificial intelligence for theological anthropology.Marius is the lead editor of the Routledge volume Perspectives on Spiritual Intelligence (2024). His first monograph, Artificial Intelligence and the Image of God: Are We More than Intelligent Machines?, is in press with Cambridge University Press.
