From Housewife to Himalayan Heights | Jyoti Ratre | TEDxTechnocrats Institute Of Technology
Jyoti Ratre’s journey is a stunning testament to the strength of willpower and the fire of passion. From being married at 18 and defined by familial responsibilities to summiting Mt. Everest at 55, she defied every limitation society placed on her. Refused by trainers and told her lungs were too weak, she created her own path — training in a weighted jacket while doing household chores and conquering mountains one peak at a time. As the oldest Indian woman to scale Everest and a trailblazer who has climbed the highest peaks on five continents, Jyoti proves that age, gender, or circumstance can never cage a dream fueled by purpose. Her transformation from a small-town homemaker to a record-setting mountaineer and entrepreneur is not just inspiring — it’s revolutionary. Jyoti Ratre is an adventurer, entrepreneur, and a living testament to the power of determination. In 2024, she made history as the Oldest Indian Woman to summit Mt. Everest, proving that age is no barrier to bold dreams. A seasoned mountaineer and runner, she has also conquered the highest peaks across five continents, inspiring countless others to break limits and rise — both literally and metaphorically. As an entrepreneur, Jyoti brings the same grit and passion to her work, empowering people to pursue their purpose with courage and conviction. - 18:27Între estetic și etic | Gabriel Mazilu | TEDxCopouDr. Gabriel Mazilu took the TEDx Copou stage to share his professional and personal journey—the lessons learned, the sacrifices made, and the responsibility of maintaining balance in a field where it’s often too easy to go too far. The desire for change can sometimes lead to excess; a surgeon’s duty is to know when to act—and when to say no. He also reminded us that life is a blend of sweet and sour moments, and our strength lies in how we choose to respond to them. With a career built on respect for authentic beauty and a genuine desire to help people regain their confidence, Dr. Gabriel Mazilu is a prominent name in the field of aesthetic surgery in Romania. Where precision meets empathy, and attention to detail turns a good result into one that deeply inspires, Dr. Mazilu creates transformations that honor each patient’s identity. "For me, aesthetic surgery is a deeply collaborative journey between doctor and patient – a path from desire to balance. True beauty is proportional, harmonious, and sincere." Each procedure is a new story. A new challenge. A real opportunity to contribute to a transformation that goes beyond aesthetics – reaching the emotional, human level. His greatest satisfaction? Seeing his patients years later, living their lives with confidence, joy, and balance. - 16:33Viața dulce? S-ar putea să fie stricată de la gust | Ana-Maria Udriște | TEDxCopouAna-Maria Udriște took the TEDx Copou stage with a brave, vulnerable talk on burnout, social pressure, inner emptiness, and the need to rediscover your authentic voice. Even when you reach society’s definition of success—the “sweet life”—you can feel drained and hollow, because true fulfilment doesn’t come from ticking off external goals, but from aligning with your own emotions and needs.Thought-provoking lines that echoed in the room: ? “Nice girls burn out—quietly.” ? “Success that wrings you dry is just exhaustion with a pink filter.” ? “Choosing sweet hurts when the only flavour you know is guilt.” ? “Give your life a flavour—your flavour, not someone else’s.”Her talk wasn’t just a message; it was a mirror. Many of us saw ourselves in it. It’s time to change the flavour of life, not just the packaging. A lawyer by profession, an entrepreneur at heart, and a visionary by definition, Ana-Maria Udriște is the voice that brought the legal world closer to people. With solid expertise in investments, M&A, and start-ups, Ana-Maria has managed transactions worth over €40 million and has redefined how we talk about law in the digital age. She founded Avocatoo, the first platform in Romania to translate legal information into everyday language—on social media. She has received awards for top campaigns, newsletters, podcasts, and blogs, and authored "Digitale pe Legale", the essential guide to navigating the digital world safely. After going through three episodes of burnout, Ana-Maria chose to live life with intention. She rediscovered the joy of being, the curiosity that defines her, and the passion for doing things differently—turning this choice into a lifestyle and a source of inspiration. - 11:52Inteligența Artificială între Beneficii și Provocări | Adrian Iftene | TEDxCopouAdrian Iftene stepped onto the TEDx Copou stage for the very first time! His talk showcased how AI is reshaping vital fields—medicine, law, computer science, and education—by giving professionals advanced tools that dramatically amplify their capabilities. Yet he also cautioned that technology is not infallible; AI-generated inaccuracies remain a real risk. That’s why experts are indispensable: they must supervise, think critically, and correct errors quickly. His message was a powerful reminder that technology must be understood, not merely used. His areas of expertise include natural language processing (named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, question-answering systems), social network analysis, image processing, augmented and virtual reality applications, conversational technologies (such as Amazon Alexa), gesture and eye-tracking control, as well as advanced software engineering. So far, he has been involved in 20 research projects (10 international and 10 national), 10 operational programs, 6 ERASMUS mobilities, and 3 COST actions. He served as project director in three major projects (MUCKE, Compet IT&C, and IRSmart), and as scientific coordinator in the STAGES project. In recent years, together with his students, he has developed innovative smart health applications and AI-driven solutions targeting conditions such as colorectal cancer, stroke, atrial fibrillation, Alzheimer's disease, malaria, and tuberculosis.
