La ricerca di se stessi | Yuri Palma | TEDxBellagio
Sono cresciuto affamato di storie, ma senza comprendere la mia, così che con la videocamera ho iniziato a cercarla negli altri. Parlando con un nomade in Africa durante un viaggio, ho capito come ogni volto incontrato fosse uno specchio, e come raccontare gli altri potesse essere il mio modo per scoprirmi. Sono Yuri Palma, ho 25 anni e sono un regista e direttore della fotografia. A 14 anni, affascinato dagli scatti di National Geographic, inizio a fotografare, ma presto sento il bisogno di raccontare anche il tempo: passo così al video. Grazie a mio padre, alpinista, muovo i primi passi nel montaggio, usando le sue riprese. Poco dopo inizio a filmare il Lago di Como, mio banco di prova, con lavori proiettati anche all'EXPO 2015. Finite le scuole, scelgo di farne un lavoro. Il mio sogno è sempre stato il documentario: ho viaggiato tra Centro Africa e Centro America raccogliendo storie di persone straordinarie. Parallelamente, ho lavorato in ambito pubblicitario e moda, esplorando forme creative differenti. La mia regia nasce dal desiderio di dare voce a chi non l’ha mai avuta e da una mia ricerca interiore, che mi spinge lontano per capire più a fondo da dove vengo.
