Dr. Ülkümen Rodoplu risklerle baş edebilmenin yollarını ve risk almanın tanımını uzman olduğu alan üzerinden örneklerle anlatmaktadır. Dr. Ülkümen Rodoplu, 4 Haziran 1961'de Ankara’da doğdu. Ankara Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi’ni bitirdikten sonra, 1987 yılında Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nden mezun oldu. 1992 yılında İzmir Atatürk Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi’nde uzmanlığını tamamladı. Uzun yıllar İzmir Alsancak Devlet Hastanesi’nde Acil Servis Sorumlusu ve Başhekim Yardımcısı olarak görev yaptı.1996 yılında Sağlık Bakanlığı bursuyla ABD’deki Mayo Clinic’te Acil Servis ve Aile Hekimliği üzerine çalıştı. Türkiye Acil Tıp Derneği’nin kurucu başkanı olan Dr. Rodoplu; Avrupa Acil Tıp Birliği (EuSEM) Başkan Vekilliği ve Avrupa Afet Tıbbı Yönetim Kurulu üyeliği gibi pek çok uluslararası görevde bulundu. Afet tıbbı alanında yüksek lisans yaparak bu alanda uzmanlaştı.2010 yılında “Herkes İçin Acil Sağlık Derneği”ni kurdu. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (WHO) tarafından “Toplu Yaralanma Yönetimi” alanında dünyadaki 20 eğiticiden biri olarak seçildi. 2023 yılından bu yana Tınaztepe Üniversitesi’nde Afet Yönetimi Öğretim Üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır.Ayrıca işyeri hekimliği, spor organizasyonlarında medikal sorumluluk, köşe yazarlığı ve eğitimcilik gibi alanlarda da aktif roller üstlenmiştir. 400’den fazla eğitim videosu üreterek kendi adıyla bir YouTube kanalı kurmuş; Herkes İçin İlkyardım ve Kaos ve Kurtuluş adlı iki kitabı yayımlanmıştır."Acil Komşum" ve "GÖREN Acil Komşum" projeleriyle, 30 yılı aşkın süredir afet bilinci ve ilkyardım eğitimleri vermeye devam etmektedir.
