La amenaza que para una sociedad democrática representa la desinformación, acecha cada día con mayor virulencia el mantenimiento de una población, libre, formada e informada. Aunque la historia nos hable, incluso en tiempos de los emperadores romanos, de los primeros casos de manipulación y de engaño a la población a través de la difusión de bulos y noticias falsas, la aparición de las redes sociales, los algoritmos de estas y la segmentación de los públicos han logrado que cada día sean más los receptores pasivos que, lejos de buscar diferentes informaciones de un hecho para contrastar la noticia, aceptan como válido lo primero que les llega. Ahí actúa la denominada información incidental que es la que no se busca, sino la que encuentra al receptor en función de sus preferencias e intereses.Sí, podría parecer que todo está perdido, pero en esa cadena de la desinformación de la que todos formamos parte, sólo la capacidad crítica del individuo va a ser capaz de parar tantas publicaciones malintencionadas que nos bombardean. La respuesta está en la alfabetización mediática y en una actitud que sólo depende del receptor, y que no es otra que la de dejar la pasividad y optar por la proactividad para invertir una tendencia, cada día marcada con más fuerza.Victoria Jiménez Hidalgo es periodista. Desde que comenzara su formación en la cadena de radio local, ha desempeñado diferentes cargos y responsabilidades relacionadas, especialmente con la información. Durante 22 años ha estado al frente de los informativos en la cadena provincial, Multimedia Jiennense, para más tarde continuar con su carrera profesional en televisión, en la cadena 7 TV Andalucía en su delegación de Jaén, donde sigue al frente de la programación informativa.
Compagina su carrera con la dirección de un proyecto personal denominado “Mejor hablando” que, a través del formato de video podcast, plantea charlas en profundidad sobre asuntos de interés, que invitan a la reflexión del espectador, buscando el testimonio más allá del personaje.
