This heartfelt talk explores the Greek word Meraki which resonates with doing something with soul, love, and creativity. Through three stories from his journey, he breaks it down into "Me" (merging identities), "Ra" (range of passions), and "Ki" (kinship and friendships). Reflecting on his shift from introvert to extrovert, failed dreams to real passions, and friendships that endured, he urges students to find their own meaning of Meraki. A dynamic force in academia and sustainability, Mr. Nalin Jayaswal at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), pursuing a dual major in Economics and Cognitive Science with a Computing Specialization. With a stellar GPA of 3.84, he is an engaged member of various clubs, including Consult your Community, SAGE, and Bruin Formula Racing. An adept researcher, his contributions to Sustainability Action Research at UCLA showcase a commitment to environmental causes, while his impactful work at Sesi Technologies in Ghana reflects his global perspective on green agricultural practices, with a passion for sustainability. With a rich history of leadership roles, including Vice President of Unravel at UCLA and Professional Outreach Director at Bruin Finance Society, his diverse skill set spans research, sustainability, investment, and leadership, making him a promising trailblazer in the fields of academia and sustainability.
