Shanghai Rocketboy | Woody Wu | TEDxYouth@YCYWShanghai

Woody believes that science dares us to ask and to do. He shares his unique journey of building rockets, inspired by "October Sky" and China’s Shenzhou 10. Woody recounts his experiences creating rockets in his kitchen, launching them, and the invaluable lessons he has learned along the way. He inspires us all to take action and pursue our dreams. Woody is a 13-year-old student in Year 8 in Shanghai Pudong and a self-described middle school wannabe rocket scientist. Intellectually curious, he loves space and the rockets that get us there, dedicating much of his time to building rockets while learning the necessary science, engineering, technical design, and programming. When he’s not launching rockets, Woody enjoys playing drums with his rock band and ultimate frisbee with friends and teammates. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
