Adolesence | Yuying Wu | TEDxHWSSH Youth
Adolescence is a storm of emotions and pressures, but understanding its science—like brain development and peer pressure —helps us navigate it. Tools like emotional intelligence training and the CLIMB framework empower teens to turn struggles into strength. Together, we can shift from merely surviving these years to thriving with confidence. Let’s build a future where every teenager feels equipped, seen, and unstoppable. - 15:37Reinventing Education in Amritsar | Mrs V. Puri | TEDxBasant NagarEducation today risks becoming a race for degrees, jobs, and packages, leaving behind the essence of nurturing compassionate and ethical human beings. In this thought-provoking talk, Mrs. V. Puri explores how Amritsar—and by extension, every community—can reimagine education to go beyond IQ and embrace physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. She urges us to cultivate empathy, civic sense, and ethical responsibility, starting from our homes, schools, and workplaces, so we build not just professionals but good human beings. A lifelong educator, mentor, and leader, Mrs. V Puri has dedicated decades to reimagining education for students and teachers alike. An alumna of Sacred Heart, Dalhousie, with an M.A. from Baring Christian College and an M.Phil from GNDU, she began teaching English at HMV Jalandhar and BBK Amritsar before becoming the Founder Principal of DAV Public School, Amritsar, leading it for 25 years. Even after retirement, she helped establish Drishti School in Ludhiana and later volunteered at a government school in Mohali, reflecting her belief in education as service. She has actively participated in global and national conferences, encouraging colleagues to grow and lead, and has been recognized with many awards, including the prestigious National Teachers Award from Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Passionate about reading, music, theatre, and the arts, Mrs. Puri embodies education as a force of empowerment and transformation. - 19:33Degree vs Direction | Aswini Bajaj | TEDxSVKM NMIMS Navi MumbaiIn my recent TEDx Talk, I addressed a question that many students, professionals, and entrepreneurs grapple with: Does success come from holding a degree, or from the direction we choose in life? The truth lies beyond this binary. A degree offers structure, discipline, and a foundation of knowledge - but it does not guarantee success. At the same time, dropping out is not a formula for greatness either.Data shows that nearly 96% of unicorn founders are graduates. What separates people is not their certificate, but their mindset and ability to keep learning. In today’s world of rapid change - with AI disrupting industries at a scale comparable to electricity or the internet - our ability to adapt, unlearn, and upgrade ourselves becomes the true differentiator. Success, therefore, cannot be defined by a title, a designation, or even a valuation. It is deeply personal. For some, it could be building a billion-dollar business; for others, it could be living a simple life aligned with their values. The key is to: 1) Introspect on your nature, risk appetite, and circumstances 2) Avoid blindly following societal definitions of success 3) Keep investing in yourself to stay relevant and resilientUltimately, the debate is not about degree vs direction. It is about how committed we are to growth, adaptability, and defining success on our own terms.
