Choose the hard way ! | Oumaima Mhijir | TEDxESCA

During her TEDx talk, the State engineer and committed social entrepreneur delivered a powerful message on the strength of inclusion and the transformative power of education. Specializing in developing projects for marginalized women and people with disabilities, she shared her daily fight to open up opportunities for underprivileged youth, notably through her leadership.A recipient of numerous national and international awards in social entrepreneurship and an active member within the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Inclusion, and Family, she called on the audience to recognize the urgency of driving sustainable social change in Morocco. Her talk resonated as a heartfelt call to action, carried by an influential voice of change and a vision of hope for future generations. Oumaima Mhijir is a State Engineer and social entrepreneur dedicated to advancing socio-economic development in Morocco. With a strong focus on marginalized women, people with disabilities, and NEETs, she designs impactful initiatives tailored to Morocco’s realities.Holding an MBA in Human Resources Management and a Diploma in International Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Basel, Oumaima combines global insights with local action. She has also enhanced her leadership skills through an executive program at Harvard University.Recognized for her commitment to women’s empowerment, Oumaima has received multiple awards, including “Africa's Women Entrepreneur” (2016) and “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” by IODSE (2022).
