Lessons we can learn from storytelling | Sania Grewal | TEDxWestern Canada HS

The idea for Sania’s talk first took root a long time ago, through volunteering at her local library. As someone who has loved reading since she was a small child, Sania has always believed that storytelling has the power to change the world. Now, as a high school student navigating a world of declining youth literacy rates and growing social disconnection, she feels more strongly than ever that stories hold solutions to many of today’s challenges. In her talk, Sania integrates her own experience with discussions of history, literature, and neuroscience—ultimately exploring how storytelling can help us build empathy and solve problems in the modern world. Sania is a 11th Grade student at Westmount Charter School. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
