Progresso leva tempo: a luta além do tatame | Rafaela Silva | TEDxYouth@CidadeJardim
Da Cidade de Deus ao topo do pódio olímpico, Rafaela Silva mostra que determinação e coragem podem transformar qualquer realidade. Entre quedas, recomeços e vitórias, ela compartilha como o judô lhe ensinou a se levantar todas as vezes que o mundo tentou derrubá-la. Uma palestra inspiradora sobre superação, propósito e o poder de acreditar no próprio sonho. Rafaela Silva começou a praticar judô no Instituto Reação, ONG criada pelo ex-atleta Flávio Canto. A carioca traçou uma carreira promissora e, em 2008, foi campeã mundial sub-20.
Três anos mais tarde, já entre os adultos, foi prata no Mundial de Paris (França). Em Londres 2012, acabou desclassificada na segunda luta após aplicar um golpe ilegal na húngara Hedvig Karakas. O ano seguinte trouxe a consagração: a atleta escreveu seu nome na história do esporte brasileiro ao se tornar a primeira judoca campeã mundial de judô. Nos Jogos Olímpicos Rio 2016, conquistou a medalha de ouro em sua cidade-natal. Rafa se tornou campeã mundial no ano seguinte e conquistou o bicampeonato em 2022. Em Paris 2024, garantiu o bronze por equipe.
Rafa é uma atleta que continua se desafiando constantemente: depois de Paris mudou para categoria acima da sua (de 57kg para 63kg) e já conquistou o ouro em sua primeira disputa, no Troféu Brasil de Judô (nov/24) e agora vai para o Mundial em sua nova categoria.
