What does the collision of ideas bring us | Qin Sun | TEDxMyddelton College Jinhua Youth

We explore the value of "collision of ideas" through debates like defining love at the beginning. It argues that collisions break cognitive inertia, foster innovation and breakthrough (as seen in Da Vinci’s combination of art and science), and reveal realistic solutions (e.g., the bra debate, where forces transfer to girl’ s power and choice). Ultimately, it shows how opposing views—like love as biology versus pure feeling—can transcend into a "third way," proving that the collision of ideas is not about right or wrong, it is about sparking deeper understandings. I’m Allison Sun, a student from a small, beautiful city. I’ve traveled and have been educated in many different cities, receiving training in critical thinking and cognitive logical fallacies. This has equipped me to understand diverse subjects and fields. Since the beginning of my journey in high school, I’ve consistently explored solutions to abstract and complex problems. These experiences have sparked collisions of ideas that led to deeper understanding. In the future, I hope to further explore real-world controversies and contribute meaningfully to society.
