Ma rencontre avec la sérendipité a à voir avec ma découverte d'un conte. Ne soyez donc pas surpris si mon talk commence par le fameux « Il était une fois... ». Il y sera question d'un roi, de princes, d'un chameau, dans l'Orient du XVIe siècle... Puis d'un écrivain anglais du XVIIIe siècle, de Pasteur et du hasard, de Fleming et de sa découverte de la pénicilline, enfin de ma rencontre effective, pas tout à fait sérendipienne, avec la sérendipité, à l'occasion d'un colloque qui contribua à faire connaître la notion en France. Diplômé de Sciences Po Paris, il est journaliste depuis plus de 30 ans. Il explore les croisements entre savoirs scientifiques et expertises profanes, et s’intéresse à la circulation des concepts dans les champs professionnels. Administrateur du Centre culturel international de Cerisy, il a fondé en 2019 Sérendip’éditions, une maison qui publie des ouvrages à la croisée des disciplines. La vie, bien complexe, a pu nous encourager à toujours chercher notre intérêt. Pourtant ce n'est pas toujours une bonne stratégie. En aimant gratuitement, les problèmes d'adultes deviennent aussi simples qu'une histoire pour enfant. Samuel vous détaille cela à l'aide d'une histoire mouvementée entre Winnie l'ourson et Porcinet le petit cochon. Après une enfance au Maroc, il cultive un goût pour les relations humaines, les bons fromages… et les mathématiques. Normalien en mathématiques à l’ENS Paris-Saclay, il prépare un doctorat en statistiques au Centre Borelli tout en suivant une formation pastorale à l’Église du Plateau de Saclay accompagnée d’un bachelor en théologie à Vaux-sur-Seine.
