What if every young person had a caring mentor? | Gustavo Luna | TEDxHarvard Square
Harvard was never supposed to be part of Gustavo Luna’s story. As a teenager, he became an “unofficial foster youth” and later faced housing insecurity. Through the support of caring adults and mentors, he not only persevered but went on to earn two degrees from Harvard University, including a Doctor of Education.
In this talk, Gustavo introduces audiences to the concept of collective impact, a movement designed to support young people from cradle to career. His message is clear: “You don’t need a fancy title or resources; you just need a caring heart.”

Dr. Gustavo Luna is recent Doctoral graduate (EdLD) at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). HGSE is also where I earned a Master’s degree in Human Development and Psychology.
