Laureata in Storia e Demografia Storica, Cavaliere di Gran Croce della Repubblica Italiana, si dedica a sport e cultura, oltre ad aver svolto attività accademica all’Università di Torino presso la cattedra di Storia Moderna.
Dal 2012 Presidente del Museo Egizio di Torino.
È stata Presidente dell’ENIT, del Teatro Stabile di Torino e dell’Orchestra Filarmonica del Teatro Regio di Torino. Ha fatto parte della Giunta Nazionale del CONI, con delega speciale alle Olimpiadi del 2006. Nel 1998-99 è stata Presidente Esecutivo del Comitato Promotore Torino 2006 guidandolo ad ottenere i XX Giochi Olimpici Invernali, che le sono valsi il “Collare d’oro Olimpico”. Da aprile 2016 ad aprile 2025 è stata rappresentante della UEFA nel FIFA Council e Consigliere di Amministrazione di Crédit Agricole Italia. È stata Presidente dello Steering Committee di Genova The Grand Finale, tappa conclusiva di The Ocean Race 2022-23.
