Ngalalakon: A Spiritual and Cultural Journey from Mount Halimun | Yoyo Yogasmana | TEDxBandung
As global food scarcity begins to threaten food security worldwide, the long-preserved traditions offer a path home—restoring the harmonious balance between humans and nature.
Yoyo Yogasmana or commonly known as Kang Yoyo, is a custodian of ancestral tradition who has served as Communications Liaison of Kasepuhan Ciptagelar. As a JAMBATAN, he is responsible for facilitating external affairs and vice versa.Since 1368, Kasepuhan Ciptagelar has preserved the tradition of “Ngalalakon”—planting rice in accordance with the Kartika and Orion star constellations, and refusing the use of machines for the sake of staying in harmony with nature’s rhythm. With bare hands and perseverance, they believe that the earth rewards only those who honor it. Amidst the global food crisis, these values remind us that the future is cultivated from the roots of past wisdom.
