- 11:16What Parenting Advice Gets Wrong | Rachael Fritz | TEDxSouthlakeModern parenting advice often promotes control, consequences, and quick fixes—ideas rooted in power rather than connection. As an educator and mother of three, Rachel reveals how these approaches create short-term obedience but long-term disconnection.Through neuroscience, attachment research, and a transformative moment at a park, she shows why children learn best through safety, relationships, and play. This talk challenges the traditional model of authority and offers three simple shifts that help parents raise confident, connected, emotionally secure children—shaping not just a household, but a generational legacy Rachael Fritz is a leading voice in the parenting revolution. A sought-after educator, coach, and child advocate, Rachael has spent her career not just raising children - but reimagining the systems that shape them. She is the founder of Parenting on Mars, a groundbreaking organization that equips parents to raise emotionally intelligent, deeply connected humans in a world that often encourages disconnection. Her approach fuses neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and real-world parenting with radical empathy - honoring each family’s past experiences, present dynamics, and future vision. Her clients call her work life-changing, accessible, and unlike anything they’ve encountered in traditional parenting spaces. Whether she’s guiding overwhelmed parents through emotional storms or challenging cultural norms on stages and in the media, Rachael’s mission is to help families feel safe, seen, and profoundly connected. - 7:28Meditation on building a plastic-free world | Vasser Seydel | TEDxGreatPacificGarbagePatchNOTE FROM TED: This talk only represents the speaker's personal views and understanding of quantum physics, energy, and consciousness which lacks legitimate scientific support. We've flagged this talk because it falls outside the content guidelines TED gives TEDx organizers. Research around microplastics and human health remains an ongoing field of study. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdfPlastic is not just pollution; it is a mirror showing how disconnected we have become from the Earth, from each other, and from ourselves. That disconnection fuels both the polycrisis and the Plasticene age. In this TEDx talk, Vasser Seydel explains how transformation begins when we reconnect—with ourselves, community, and the quantum. As Nikola Tesla said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” Vasser Seydel is the President of The Oxygen Project, a nonprofit dedicated to defending the life support systems that keep us breathing and advancing a regenerative, conscious, and climate-resilient future through bold campaigns, innovative education, and powerful storytelling. She serves on the boards of Mission Blue, founded by Dr. Sylvia Earle, the National Center for Family Philanthropy, and the Turner Foundation. Vasser is an Arctic Angel for Global Choices and an advisory board member for One Earth. Recently, Vasser was named one of Inside Philanthropy’s most powerful people in philanthropy under 40.
