The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdfIn this compelling talk, the speaker draws a powerful metaphor between how we intuitively respond to loved ones' voices and how we should learn to listen to our own bodies in the same way. Our bodies are constantly “calling” us through sensations, symptoms, and feelings, yet we often ignore these messages like spam calls. The speaker shares a personal journey of finally “picking up the call” after years of depression, disordered eating, and chronic discomfort. That moment of deep listening and honest dialogue with the body became a turning point, leading to healing, improved mental and physical health, and a career as a holistic health coach. She explains how quality of life is deeply linked to how we treat and understand our bodies, especially through the twin pillars of food and movement. With over 40% of the world struggling with digestive issues and rising mental health challenges, learning how to eat and move in ways that feel good and aligned is essential. The talk emphasizes experimentation, mindfulness in eating, joyful movement, and gradual habit-building as ways to reconnect with the body and elevate well-being. Ultimately, the message is clear: by building a stronger relationship with your body, you enhance not only your personal quality of life, but also your ability to contribute positively to the world around you.Maya Carl is a certified Holistic Health Coach and has maintained a private practice, Earth Body Coaching, for 8 years. Maya is also a certified Pilates Instructor and Yoga Teacher. She has a passion for empowering people and supporting them in living their healthiest, most aligned lives. She focuses on helping people change their approach to food, their bodies, movement, stress and daily habits.
