Gen Alpha Speaks English Too | Regan F. | TEDxTFS Youth

“Skibidi toilet rizz” is the future of the English language, and that’s a good thing. In this talk, Regan explores the linguistic patterns that have invented terms like “businesswoman”, or “to google”, or even “doomscrolling” and the like. She challenges the idea that language has “wrong” ways of being used, and instead celebrates its evolution—because when the world changes, language does too, and that’s a good thing. Regan is a Grade 11 student (Class of 2026) with a passion for linguistics and the evolution of English. Fluent in multiple languages, her boundless curiosity has led her to explore them through spelling bees, school clubs, and independent study. Through these experiences, she has come to celebrate human communication in all its forms, making her own voice one of insight and inclusivity. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
