When Knowledge Flows, Everyone Rises | Danish Mahajan | TEDxIIM Nagpur

In this moving talk, Danish shares his journey from exclusion to empowerment, and how that single moment of knowledge inspired him to co-found Radio Udaan, India’s first online community radio for persons with disabilities. Through Radio Udaan, he has helped over 50,000 people access information, opportunities, and confidence to rewrite their own stories.Drawing from personal experience, he highlights the three key barriers still holding millions back — accessibility, representation, and mindset — and calls on future leaders to build a world where inclusion is designed from the start, not added later.A heartfelt reminder that the true power of knowledge lies not in keeping it, but in sharing it. Danish Mahajan is the founder of Radio Udaan, India’s pioneering community radio platform run entirely by persons with disabilities. Losing his eyesight at a young age did not deter him from building a space for empowerment, inclusion, and dialogue. Since 2014, Radio Udaan has reached thousands of listeners, creating awareness and amplifying unheard voices nationwide. Danish has hosted over 1,500 episodes of his show Badalta Daur and has been recognized with the National Award for his contributions. His story exemplifies resilience, determination, and creativity, establishing him as a changemaker in accessibility and community-driven initiatives across India. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
