- Quang Do is the founder of Overseas Vietnamese (OV), a private network for Vietnamese professionals and entrepreneurs worldwide. Born and raised in Germany as the child of Vietnamese immigrants, Quang started OV out of a personal desire to connect with his people and a need for a supportive, professional network. Today, OV has grown into a global community of 600+ members, reaching 50k+ Vietnamese professionals across 100+ cities. Previously at Google, Quang has now made OV his full-time mission: to build a lasting, generational community for both current and future Vietnamese diaspora. The mission is simple: help Vietnamese worldwide thrive by fostering meaningful connections, lifelong learning, and a shared commitment to giving back. A key part of this mission is to bring more Vietnamese (back) to Vietnam – to be part of and contribute to the country’s economic growth story. - 7:41Step forward - Technology for good | Yixuan ZHU | TEDxPennon Qingdao YouthIn 2025, ten million people still die simply because they can’t reach a doctor in time. That reality haunts me, so tonight I step forward to share how ordinary phones, 3-D printers and online study are already healing our shared home. I believe technology’s greatest power is not in profit but in empathy: printing limbs, connecting learners, saving lives. If we choose to use it for good, each of us can turn a pocket-sized device into a life-saving tool. Let’s prove that progress isn’t measured in code, but in the lives we illuminate together. I am Eric and I'm 12. I love football and video games. I enjoy science class and hanging out with friends. I'm friendly and like trying new things. - 3:19My World of Cakes and Smiles | Xi Hu | TEDxPennon Qingdao YouthI am a girl who turns flour, eggs and giggles into edible sunshine. In my tiny kitchen, every whisk-stroke is an experiment and every cake that rises carries a surprise flavour and a mission: to light up faces. From dreaming up galaxy-swirl birthday towers to watching my neighbours’ eyes sparkle at the first bite, I’ve learned that a slice of sweetness can travel faster than any smile. 2024:HU Xi, a student from Qingdao Laoshan District No. 2 Experimental Primary School This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. - 3:39Overcoming Fear and Failure | Zixiao HUANG | TEDxPennon Qingdao YouthA 99 once made me feel invincible, but when the next paper came back 96, fear pounced like a shadow. So I built a notebook of every stumble, turning red ink into rocket fuel. Edison taught me that each “wrong” answer is just one filament closer to light. Today I roar: failure isn’t a verdict; it’s a map. Open your mistake notebook, keep moving, and watch fear become the loudest cheerleader you’ve ever had. My name is Leo, I am7 years old.I like reading English picture books, and I am fond of Go and martial arts. I want to be a scientist, and my favorite is the great inventor Edison. - 3:36Step forward - Be brave to do anything | Jianing DU | TEDxPennon Qingdao YouthDrawing from her own kitchen flops and the image of a toddler’s first wobbly steps, she argues that courage isn’t the absence of fear but the decision to move while still afraid. Every shuffle, stumble, or stride—no matter how small—builds the strength that perfect stillness never can. If you’re standing at the edge of your own next step, Jessica’s story will nudge you to take it. My name is Jessica,a sunny girl. I enjoy reading adventure English novels and drawing comics! I hope to become good friends with everyone! This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. - 2:39Step forward - Sustainable Development | Xinyi YU | TEDxPennon Qingdao YouthLast picnic day, after weaving flower crowns, I ask myself"What if we run out of trees and braches?" That question bloomed into my mission. Today I’ll show how planting willow trees, reusing bottles, and tiny daily choices grow into Sustainable Development—big words that just mean loving our planet like a best friend. Let’s help flowers bloom and willows grow together! I am Yu Xinyi, a positive and cheerful girl. I come from Shangqing Road Primary School in Qingdao. - 3:28Breaking your limits | Yunxi ZHANG | TEDxPennon Qingdao YouthBallet class scared me more than math tests; my legs froze, my heart drummed louder than any music. One day I decided to face the mirror, fall, laugh, and rise again. Each stumble painted bruises that turned into art. Today I’ll share how I rewrote “I can’t” into “I could,” and why trying, tumbling, and repeating is the bravest dance we’ll ever do. My name is Elsa. I am a 10-year-old girl who loves reading, drawing, and playing the piano. Music brings me a lot of joy, and I enjoy expressing myself through art and melodies.
