Smile is a Curve That Sets Everything Straight | Dr. DEEPTI GARG | TEDxShiva Shiksha Sadan Youth
This inspiring Talk explores the simple yet transformative power of a smile — a universal gesture that transcends language, culture, and circumstance. A smile is not just an expression of happiness; it’s a science-backed force that releases endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin — the body’s natural mood enhancers.
The talk reveals how smiling can reduce stress, build confidence, and foster human connection, reminding us that even the smallest act can have a profound ripple effect on our well-being and the world around us.
At its heart, this talk is a celebration of positivity, empathy, and the quiet strength that lies in kindness. Because sometimes, it doesn’t take much to change a moment, a mood, or a day — just a curve that sets everything straight. I am Dr. Deepti Garg, an Orthodontist with over 14 years of experience, currently serving as an Associate Professor and running my private practice, The Smile Lounge Dental Clinic, in Delhi. I completed my BDS (2002–2007) and MDS (2008–2011) from DAV Dental College, Yamunanagar. I specialize in correcting crooked and malaligned teeth using braces, aligners, myofunctional appliances, and orthognathic surgeries, and I also perform dental implant procedures. I have published extensively in national and international journals and won 1st prize for my e-poster on "3D Facial Imaging – The Cutting Edge" at AIIMS in 2010. I was recognized as the “Best Orthodontist and Implantologist” in East Delhi in 2015 and have recently mastered in-house aligners through AIIMS in collaboration with the Indian Orthodontic Society.
