- 14:19From engineering and finance to regenerative agriculture | Hannes Höhne | TEDxKLU HamburgIn a degenerated world, sustainability is not enough. It's not invented in boardrooms. It doesn't come through the next technological innovation. Rather, we must enter an age of regeneration: hands-on care, growth through soil, and holistic thinking. Hannes Höhne is a farmer, industrial engineer specializing in environmental technology, and a consultant and project developer for regenerative land use. Since 2017, he has been working independently as a consultant and project developer in regenerative agriculture (http://www.einfach-erden.de), and since 2020, he has been a full-time farmer at Gut Haidehof near Hamburg (http://www.gut-haidehof.de). There, together with two colleagues, a Hamburg-based family, and a growing team, he is developing a model farm for regenerative agriculture. In addition to a small herd of suckler cows and fully mobile pasture-raised poultry managed under a holistic planned grazing strategy, the foundation of the operation at Gut Haidehof includes no-till, biointensive mulch-based vegetable farming and expanding agroforestry systems — all aimed at strengthening regional food sovereignty in Hamburg’s western region.
