A Society Not Afraid To Be Different | Tamaki Ishiguro | TEDxTIU
The reason she teaches English is because she wants to create an atmosphere where children are not afraid of making mistakes. Her experience of being hurt because of her appearance, and the realization she found through English—that being different does not mean it’s bad—became the starting point of her current path. Through EAP activities, she aims to share the experience of connecting with people through English with the local community and help create a town where everyone can speak their mind. She is a Founder of an English School for kids and adults in Kanazawa, Ishikawa. She had experience studying abroad in Germany, and in the US. She has a motivation to normalize using English in our everyday life. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
