Shri Mukesh Garg, Member, Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission, brings over three decades of distinguished legal practice and institutional service. Born on 6th November 1962 in Jagadhri, he graduated in Commerce from Agrasen College, Jagadhri (1983) and earned his LL.B. from Kurukshetra University (1986). Beginning his career as an Advocate in 1986, he practiced at Jagadhri Court for 35 years, handling a wide range of civil, criminal, and significant national and international cases. Recognized for his legal acumen, he was appointed Member, Haryana State Law Commission in 2021, contributing to legal research, reforms, and policy formulation. On 2nd February 2024, he assumed office as Member, HERC, where he continues to apply his expertise to strengthen regulatory governance, promote legal transparency, and safeguard consumer interests in Haryana’s electricity sector. Peter Decherney is an award-winning fine art photographer, filmmaker, and author. He holds the Edmund J. and Louise W. Kahn Endowed Term Chair in the Humanities at the University of Pennsylvania, where he is Professor of Cinema & Media Studies and Director of the Penn Global Documentary Institute. Peter is the author or editor of seven books. He has also written for The New York Times, Forbes, and Inside Higher Ed, among many other publications. His photographs of global Jewish communities have been exhibited in museums, galleries, and universities, and his first book of photography is forthcoming. Peter’s films focus on migration and the political role of artists. He is an award-winning teacher, whose open online course on the history of Hollywood has enrolled more than 80,000 learners.
