Homemakers - The untapped economic powerhouse | NISHTHA YOGESH | TEDxAnuragU

What if the key to India’s next big economic revolution lies not in skyscrapers or start-ups, but within the walls of our own homes? What if the 340 million homemakers our mothers, sisters, and wives who tirelessly nurture families are actually the most underutilized force in our economy? Why are only 23% of Indian women part of the workforce, and why is that number still declining? Have we truly recognized their potential beyond caregiving?Isn’t digital access, online learning, social commerce, and financial inclusion creating the tools needed to transform their lives? If millions of women are already using smartphones and the internet to upskill, earn, and lead, isn’t this more than just progress isn’t this a silent revolution? And most importantly, what can you do to support this movement? Can you be the one to encourage, uplift, and help change the narrative so that our homemakers are finally seen not just as caregivers, but as the leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers they truly are? Nishtha Yogesh is the founder and CEO of Hunar Online Courses, an online learning platform aimed at empowering women by teaching them new skills for financial independence. She started her career early, working as a receptionist at just 12, and later became a Chartered Accountant. Her journey from finance to entrepreneurship showcases her dedication towards women's education and empowerment inspiring them to achieve financial freedom through skill-based learning. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
