Сommunications expert Dastan Akkozha examines language issues through the lens of inclusion. He notes that although the majority of Kazakhstan’s population speaks Kazakh, the language still does not receive sufficient attention in the business sector.
“Last year, several business owners faced public backlash due to their attitude toward the Kazakh language, resulting at the very least in a significant decline in their companies’ ratings. This highlights how acute the language issue remains in the country,” he says.
Dastan also shares that his own journey of learning a language was far from easy, emphasizing that acknowledging and respecting each individual’s feelings toward language is a fundamental condition for inclusion.
