Dr. Malina discusses how natural processes can improve water treatment. Dr. Malina researches the fate of organic contaminants in aquatic environments, focusing on their transformation processes and their impact on ecosystems and human health. Through laboratory experiments, field studies, and toxicological assessments, She develops strategies to mitigate climate change effects and protect water resources for drinking and agriculture. She has been recognized for her leadership in strengthening Auburn University’s Postdoctoral Community (2022) and was awarded the DAAD Individual Research Award for Doctoral Candidates and Young Academics (2018). She is a member of the American Chemical Society (ACS), International Humic Substances Society (IHSS), and Association for Women in Science (AWIS).
