Did you know that all the food that we waste, in theory, could feed every hungry person on the planet twice? In this talk, Dr. Topaloglu explores consumers’ food waste behavior and how small food waste across millions of households become mountains of food. Omer Topaloglu, Ph.D. (Toe-pah-loh-loo) is Professor of Marketing and Chair of the Department of Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Silberman College of Business. A recognized scholar in brand strategy, nonprofit marketing, and digital marketing, his research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Retailing, Decision Sciences, and the Journal of Business Research. Dr. Topaloglu is the recipient of multiple teaching, research, and service awards, including the New Jersey Bright Idea Award, and has delivered invited talks at international conferences and universities worldwide. He is also the founding president of the Society of North American Scholars and serves on several editorial and professional boards. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Texas Tech University, an M.B.A. from Montclair State University, and a B.A. in Economics from Bogazici University.
