Why Learn Latin? | Ryan Kwak | TEDxHAFS Youth
Latin is not dead; it is eternal.
In fact, we use Latin words every day. Our numbers come from Latin, and some phrases, such as 'Cogito Ergo Sum,' are actually Latin. As you can see, Latin is close to us, and learning it can benefit us in many ways.
Ryan Kwak explains why we should learn Latin. Ryan is a student studying Economics at Hankuk Academy of Foreign Studies. Throughout his life, he has loved economics and languages. He studied Spanish for a long time, and as a Catholic, I eventually became interested in the Latin language. Latin language changed his mindset when handling problems and helped him dream of a life aiding people in need using languages. That's where my interdisciplinarity came out, integrating Latin and Economics. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
