Three Quiet Friends | Anirwa Dadda | TEDxYouth@YCYWShanghai

Shhh… meet the speaker's three quiet but powerful friends: books, music, and plants. Books ask, ‘What if?’—whispering adventures when he felt alone. Music embraces his heart, turning sadness into silly bird songs and piano joy. Plants taught him patience as tiny sunflowers grew, reminding him, ‘Keep going!’ Life can be hard, but these friends never leave. They don’t talk, but they speak loudly if you dare to listen. So, his challenge to others: find their quiet friends. Ask them questions. They’ll answer in ways that surprise. Because even in silence, you’re never truly alone. Anirwa is a Grade 3 student studying in Tongxiang, China. Born in Paderborn, Germany, he is a well-rounded young boy who balances school with hobbies like playing the piano and exploring Chinese culture through comics, books, and food. He is social and outgoing, enjoying connecting with friends locally and internationally. Anirwa loves discovering new places and dreams of becoming a pilot. Recently, he grew a lemon sapling inspired by a video, showing his curiosity in action. He also researches his own books, excels in piano, and plays the violin, composing his own tunes with creativity. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
