Esta charla explora la fortaleza narrativa de la fotografía, que nos permite registrar hechos e historias, y comprender que los significados varían de acuerdo con las circunstancias de los protagonistas. El fotógrafo Esteban Vanegas nos demuestra que nuestra mirada puede ser íntima, familiar o global. Ese es su poder. Fotógrafo y editor de fotografía colombiano. Su trabajo documental se enfoca en el conflicto armado colombiano, el impacto del ser humano en el medio ambiente y las migraciones. Ha trabajado para medios como Bloomberg, GEO Francia, The New York Times y Liberation, además fue jurado del World Press Photo en 2021 y editor jefe de fotografía del grupo de medios El Colombiano. Su trabajo en el sistema de Naciones Unidas lo llevó a liderar proyectos en el pacífico caucano, donde fue autor de un foto-libro sobre las tradiciones indígenas y afrocolombianas, y más recientemente en la Misión de Verificación de Naciones Unidas en el Caribe, donde lideró los trabajos de la ONU con los pueblos étnicos de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta y los semilleros de fotografía para hijos e hijas de los firmantes del Acuerdo de Paz en el Cesar.
