The Metamorphosis of Technology: Redefining What’s Possible | Selim Kara | TEDxALKEVHS Youth

The speech “The Metamorphosis of Technology: Redefining What’s Possible” explores how technological innovation continuously transforms the boundaries of human capability and imagination. It reflects on the rapid evolution of modern technology, from artificial intelligence and robotics to biotechnology and digital communication, and examines how these changes reshape the way we think, create, and connect. The talk emphasizes that technology is not just a tool but a catalyst for human transformation. It challenges the audience to consider both the opportunities and the ethical responsibilities that come with innovation. By drawing parallels between human adaptability and technological progress, the speech highlights how this ongoing metamorphosis pushes society to redefine what is truly possible, not only in science and industry, but also in the human experience itself.Ultimately, it invites listeners to see technology as a reflection of our own evolution: a mirror that reveals both our potential for creation and our need for balance, empathy, and purpose in an ever-changing digital world. I am currently studying at ALKEV Anatolian High School as an IB student. In 10th grade, I developed a TÜBİTAK science project, through which I gained valuable research and experimental experience. I was involved in the FRC Robotics Club at my first year at high school. Then I also involved in the Introduction to Engineering Design Club. In addition, I am also a licensed basketball player for 7 years and involved in school Basketball team. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
