THE ROAD NOT TAKEN | Dhanushkha Veereswaran | TEDxYouth@RJM
“The Road Not Taken” is a reflective narrative inspired by Robert Frost’s poem. It explores Dhanushkha’s journey of self-discovery as a left-handed person in a right-handed world. What seems a minor detail becomes a metaphor for non-conformity, identity, and courage. From childhood, she faced correction and exclusion, told she was using the “wrong” hand and expected to conform. But she chose to walk differently, challenging how society defines "right." This led to a shift: she stopped hiding and owned her difference. Through personal stories — from awkward handshakes to cultural rituals —her talk will show how norms suppress individuality, yet reclaiming identity is powerful. Moving from personal struggle to universal truth, it encourages others to question norms and embrace uniqueness. Citing Leonardo da Vinci, Marie Curie, Barack Obama, and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, it shows how those who dared to be different didn’t follow the path — they became the path. “The Road Not Taken” is a reflective narrative inspired by Robert Frost’s poem.
