How to End the Climate Crisis by 2050 | Peter Fiekowsky, Ph.D. | TEDxTaftAvenue

NOTE FROM TED: Ocean iron fertilization remains criticized by experts working in this field who have expressed concerns about its environmental impacts. This talk only represents the speaker's personal approach to and understanding of carbon sequestration which warrants further scientific investigation. We've flagged this talk because it falls outside the content guidelines TED gives TEDx organizers. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdfPeter Fiekowsky's talk about a viable solution for global warming is very good news indeed. Nature shared the secret decades ago but are we ready to listen? Peter Fiekowsky is an MIT-educated physicist and engineer, serial entrepreneur, philanthropist, social innovator, and author. He has worked at NASA and the Fairchild/ Schlumberger Artificial Intelligence Lab in Palo Alto; taught at MIT; and developed his own machine vision company, Automated Visual Inspection LLC (AVI). He holds 27 patents. A decade ago, when it became clear that global warming would endanger the future for all of us, Fiekowsky turned his energies to restoring a climate that will instead promote the flourishing of humanity as well as Earth’s current ecosystems. He launched the Foundation for Climate Restoration in 2017 to work with top scientists, innovators, policymakers, and others, to create the understanding and policy needed to further climate restoration, and served as its Board Chairman until 2020. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
