Ranjit Barthakur, a Social Entrepreneur and business leader with over five decades of experience, has dedicated the past decade to grassroots initiatives in the Eastern Himalayas, spanning environment, community, healthcare, education, and agriculture. A pioneer of the Naturenomics™ philosophy, linking nature and economics, he champions nature-based, community-led conservation and sustainable livelihoods, with ecological neutrality at its core. Through the Balipara Foundation, he has incubated impactful initiatives such as River Journeys & Bungalows of India, Bamboo Civilization, Elephant Country, and The Nursery, fostering the future of forests and indigenous communities across Northeast India. His career also bridges FMCG, telecom, IT, agriculture, tourism, and social ecosystems.
