Storica e antropologa culturale, è direttrice del Museo nazionale svizzero dal 2021. Dopo una specializzazione in regia e produzione cinematografica, ha curato numerose esposizioni su temi come il Rinascimento, la storia medievale e il movimento femminista, combinando rigore scientifico e accessibilità.Da anni si impegna attivamente nella divulgazione, nella formazione accademica e in diverse commissioni, contribuendo a rendere il patrimonio culturale uno strumento vivo di riflessione sul presente. Denise Tonella è direttrice del Museo nazionale svizzero dal 2021. Storica e antropologa culturale di formazione, ha studiato all’Università di Basilea e si è successivamente specializzata in regia e produzione cinematografica. Prima di assumere la direzione del museo, ha lavorato al suo interno dal 2010 in diverse funzioni, dal 2014 al 2021 come curatrice e capo progetto, realizzando numerose mostre su temi quali il Rinascimento, la storia medievale e il movimento femminista. Tiene regolarmente corsi universitari e partecipa come esperta a varie commissioni.
