Finding who you are within your struggles | Ha Anh Tran | TEDxISPH Youth

Under the refreshing motto of: ‘It’s sometimes best to be the worst in the room.’, speaker Ha Anh proposes that true excellence isn’t about being better than others. Rather, it is about being better than the person you were yesterday. In her talk, titled ‘Find who you are within your struggles’, she will share her journey of embracing challenges, not as setbacks, but as signposts that lead to personal discovery. Having struggled and compared myself with others, I always kept a motto in mind: “It’s sometimes best to be the worst in the room”. It reminded me that I should strive for excellence within myself, aiming to be one step further than yesterday, rather than comparing who I am in a large group. Being the “worst in the room” doesn’t mean settling for what’s “good enough”; it means expanding my knowledge and expertise, surrounding myself with those ahead of me, learning from their experiences and thus reflecting on my own. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
