Why climate policy needs room to try, fail, and learn | Sevim Aktas | TEDxBrussels

At the government level, we have the experts, what we lack is experience. Sevim Aktas, an engineer-turned EU advisor, suggests a new model: give governments room to try, fail, and learn and ask citizens to shift from punishing every mistake to sharing ownership, so we can adapt faster in a changing climate and evolving environment. Engineer turned EU advisor, Sevim Aktas works in the Cabinet of Commissioner Micallef, coordinating communication on youth, culture & sport. A climate policy expert by experience, she founded Inside EU: Climate & Careers (@sevimaktaseu) to make Europe’s complexity accessible. She holds a degree in Energy Engineering from Oxford and Twente. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
