Les dernières avancées de la recherche en épigénétique permettent d’envisager de réparer les cellules touchées par le cancer, plutôt que de les détruire. Corinne Augé est professeur de génétique moléculaire à l’université de Tours et coordinatrice de l’axe épigénétique au sein de l’équipe IDeALS du laboratoire iBraiN. Ses recherches se concentrent sur le glioblastome, un cancer du cerveau très agressif, dans le but de développer de nouvelles stratégies thérapeutiques. Passionnée par la médiation scientifique, elle œuvre également à rendre la génétique et l’épigénétique accessibles au grand public (www.tamygenetique.com). Elle vient de publier un ouvrage, L’épigénétique et le cou de la girafe (Humensciences), dans lequel elle explore comment l’épigénétique redéfinit notre compréhension de l’inné et de l’acquis.
