The Psychology and Neuroscience behind FLOW | Peiquan Chen | TEDxRDFIS Youth
As a two-time finalist for the John Locke Institute Essay Competition (Psychology Category) and a participant in Columbia University’s neuroscience preparatory courses, student Page raised a provocative question from a neuroscientific perspective: “When we ‘lose self-awareness’ in a state of flow, does it mean that free will is merely an illusion?” He also shared academic insights into “flow”: why we enter this state and how our brains regulate our decision-making processes. 7.Page is an ambitious, enthusiastic, talented senior student with strong research skills and compassionate hearts. Seeking, gaining and utilizing every possible opportunity, he dedicated diligently yet consistently to various fields such as Psychology and neuroscience, JAVA language, musical performances, road cycling, etc. He had been shortlisted twice in Johne Locke Essay Competition for psychology and participated in Columbia University Pre-college program to study Neuroscience. How we guide it will define the inclusivity and ethics of the future we create.
